Northgate High School, home of the Vikings, is a high school located in northeastern Coweta County, in Newnan, Georgia. Northgate High School is the newest of the three Coweta County high schools.

Northgate offers four diploma choices: College Prep with Distinction, College Prep, Career/Technical with Distinction, and Career/Technical. Students may also choose a dual diploma program with both college prep and career/tech seals.

Feeder School includes Lee Middle School, Madras Middle School and Arnall Middle School. Madras also feeds into the nearby high school Newnan High School. NGHS' athletic rivals are Whitewater High School, McIntosh High School, Starr's Mill High School and Sandy Creek High School in neighboring Fayette County.

Athletics

Northgate has achieved a few state champions in the class AAAA. Their most recent was their baseball team compiling a 32-5 record and an all region championship game with Starr's Mill and defeating them in three games. Their competition cheer leading has won state in 07', 08', 09', 10' and 11'. Their softball won their first championship in 2007, and then again in 2011. The first state championship in school history was earned by the wrestling squad in 2002. Also it is the only school in the country that has a graveyard on the campus.

Music

Northgate has a variety of music programs such as a Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Advanced Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Winter Percussion, and Junior Varsity/Varsity Winterguard.

In 12 years as a competitive unit, the band has earned an astonishing 87 class championship awards, 24 Divisional Championship awards and 4 Grand Championship awards. Competing in their own classification, they have established a winning percentage of 91 % over the last 12 years.

The band or affiliated units have traveled to and performed in Gulf Shores, AL Pensacola, FL Washington, DC Mobile, AL San Diego, CA Murfreesboro, TN Dayton, OH Tampa, FL Hollywood, CA Panama City Beach, FL Chicago, IL as well as hundreds of local and regional performances over the last 12 years.[1]
